I'm Chris.

I'm an underpaid civil rights attorney living in my hometown and favorite place in the world, Austin, TX.

Prior to landing my current job, I volunteered for about a year as an attorney doing capital appeals with a group where I worked as a law clerk. For the case I was primarily working on, a federal judge ordered that he receive a new trial due to his attorney being completely in over his head in the initial trial.

Anyway, I found out yesterday that the DA in charge of re-trying the case agreed to a plea deal for a life sentence.

As much as I enjoy my current work, I don’t imagine it will ever allow me to experience a feeling quite like playing a role in literally saving another person’s life.
